Toning and Energy Alignment to Heal Tinnitus

This is an excerpt from Positive Health Online Issue 220 – February 2015. The full article can be found at: Toning and Energy Alignment to Heal Tinnitus.

Tinnitus is often described as a noise in the head, interestingly the word is taken from the Latin word ‘tinnire’ which means ringing or a tinkling bell. However, my clients who suffered from tinnitus have more frequently described the ‘noise’ in their head as a continuous loud buzzing, droning, whispering, humming or whistling. The sounds are more audible, seem louder and are more of a problem when it’s quiet, or when they are trying to go to sleep.

According to The British Tinnitus Association, Tinnitus affects 10% of the population of the United Kingdom permanently and affects millions across the world. Tinnitus is the most common injury arising from the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq and another alarming fact states that 75% of 18 to 30 year-olds who go to nightclubs and concerts may experience temporary tinnitus. It is obvious, therefore that many are in need of both emotional and practical support.

Healing with Flowers : It’s Never Too Late

My mother Betty was born in 1921. She was the youngest daughter of Alice and Enos Sherborne. Her mother Alice had been a milliner and a window dresser for Harrods, the now famous department store in London. Alice married Enos, a cabinet maker and they had six children. Betty was the youngest daughter. After leaving school at fifteen, Mum worked at the Vickers Armstrong aircraft factory in Weybridge until she was called into the army at the outbreak of the second World War and eventually posted as a telephonist to Bordon Camp in Hampshire, the Canadian Army base.

Mum met my father Percy at a dance in Byfleet in 1945, shortly after his return from a harrowing five year posting abroad. He had served in the 8th Army as one of Field Marshal Montgomery’s ‘desert rats’ in the North African campaigns. After a brief courtship, they married in the local church. I was born nine months later and my brother was born in the Spring of 1948. In 1953, the year of the Queen’s Coronation, my father’s new job in local government prompted a move to the village of Barnack in Lincolnshire, where a third child was born in 1955. + Read More

Past Life Cellular Memory Surfacing Through Yoga

BKS_Iyengar“But what of the memory of the body?  Does that also, like its conscious counterpart in mind have the capacity to enslave us or set us free?  It does, and here again the awakening of intelligence is critical.”

B.K.S. Iyengar

I have learned a great deal about the body through practising Iyengar Yoga.  I first became interested in past life memory when I connected with Rainbow Light Trust, a ‘not for profit’ healing organisation in the North of England.  This led me to train in Soul Recall Therapy (the therapeutic release of memory imprints) with The Academy of Spiritual Sciences.  Although I was aware that yoga and soul recall bring integration, balance and harmony to the human energy field (known in yoga as the five kosas or subtle sheaths of the being) I had not realised any further links until my own therapy sessions began to reveal a pattern.  During my yoga classes, in some positions, I experienced unexplained physical discomfort or mental and emotional anxiety but had not known why.  Carol Lamb, Founder of the Rainbow Light Network and my therapist and tutor, explained to me that specific body positions can ignite memory at the cellular level. + Read More

Life Path Parts 3 and 4

Life Path

SACRED-GEOMETRY 1The most important number in our numerological chart, the Life Path number, is based on the date of birth.  The Life Path number is the sum of the month, day and year of birth added together. (See Part 1 and Part 2)

The Birth Day number is the day of birth, and is not reduced to a single digit as each of the 31 days has its own individual meaning and description.  The day of birth bears great significance in understanding who we are and where our talents lie, indicating some special talent that will help us along our Life’s Path. + Read More

Susie: Restored by Chopin and Yellow Silk

ChopinSusie was a lady in her forties with learning disabilities and limited speech, who lived in a residential home with four other women. She was prone to angry outbursts and had been diagnosed with clinical depression two years earlier, after the death of her mother with whom she had lived. Susie was referred to me because staff in the home were concerned about her behaviour and moods which were not lifting. Susie loved the swathes of rainbow coloured silk I brought with me to our sessions and wrapped herself in her favourite sunshine yellow, before continually admiring herself in the mirror.

Light and sound are both manifestations of vibration and we observe colour as the rainbow spectrum. Each colour correlates to a specific frequency and we feel drawn in the moment to the colour we most need at the time to redress any imbalance within our physical body and electromagnetic (auric) field, the envelope of subtle energy surrounding our physical body.  For those who are interested in knowing more, an understanding of metaphysics and the principles of healing  is offered in  The Science of Healing and The Anatomy of the Human Energy Field  both manuals are written by Carol Lamb and published by Epiphany Press.

Toning: The System and Application of Rainbow Chakra Tones

YantraAncient cultures in both the northern and southern hemisphere understood the law of vibration, they recognised sound as energy in motion, acknowledging that everything vibrates at its own frequency, whether a cell within our body, a flower in our garden or a star in the galaxies. Indigenous people felt and appreciated the impact of sound upon the body, the community and the environment, particularly when focused effectively and this is the principle behind toning. Ethnic groups, who have maintained their connection to the earth through thousands of years, worked with vibration and used sound as a key element in their rituals and sacred rites to evoke reverence and oneness with nature because they understood that sound arises as a consequence of the movement of the ether, the interface between the physical and the non physical worlds. + Read More

Jean: A Musical Memory

MOZARTMusic has made a tremendous impact on the life of many of the clients I have worked with and I particularly remember one lady, who was referred to me at the age of forty four because she had never spoken, although staff felt that she understood much of what was said to her. Jean was one of seven children; she was dark haired, of slight build, with learning disabilities and scoliosis of the spine. She lived in a residential care home with five other adults of similar age and ability. Her favourite occupation was brushing the hair of another resident or member of staff, whether they liked it or not. Jean gestured and pointed to make choices or pulled a member of staff towards the object of desire. She waved her hand when she was tired or when she was going out. Adding to the stress levels within the house, Jean would unpredictably scream and throw any object of choice to gain attention or when frustrated. I also noted that she disconcertingly had a permanent smile on her face, whatever her mood or intention.

I was told there was little family contact, primarily because of the family’s discomfort in being unable to make sense of Jean’s communication. On my initial visit to see Jean in her residential home, I realised that as far as the staff were concerned, noise was preferable to silence. In the kitchen, the radio was tuned into a popular radio station because the staff in residential homes, often make the assumption that their preferred choice of music is also that of the residents. In the sitting room, the television was permanently on, providing a constant cacophony of background noise. At that time of my visit, there was only one CD player for communal use in the sitting room and because the residents did not have their own personal CD players, there was little opportunity to discover their musical preferences.

Numerology and the Life Path – Part 2

Life Path 1 (10/1, 19/1, 28/1, 37/1, 46/1, 64/1, 73/1, 82/1, 91/1)

Blue-numbersLife Path 1 indicates someone who is hard working, a natural born leader with a pioneering spirit, full of energy and a passion for art.  A strong desire to be number one means they can manifest very easily.  Due to determination and self motivation, they won’t let anything stand in their way of accomplishing a goal, their drive allowing them to overcome any obstacle or challenge encountered.  They have the desire to accomplish great things in their lifetime.  They need only to focus on what they want in order to achieve it.  A tendency to be critical of themselves can cause them to be very critical of others also, and cannot tolerate laziness from the people they spend their time with. + Read More

Restoring Peace to the Home

HeartMy experience as a foster mother and also as a Speech and Language Therapist in community and hospital clinics over many years with children with impaired communication, has shown me that behaviour problems often inhibit other aspects of development. Since that time, I have studied and taught holistic therapies from a spiritual perspective and my perception and approach has shifted radically.

Parents often cry out for help as they struggle to assert their authority, fearing that they may add to the difficulties that their child is already experiencing.

I have endeavoured to reassure parents that this is usually not the case because once the child begins to control their behaviour within established parameters with the realisation that it’s their parents who are in charge not them, other problems often resolve amazingly quickly. This usually leads to a general improvement in all aspects of communication. + Read More

Learning to Play the Harp Intuitively

“There is geometry in the humming of the strings,
there is music in the spacing of the spheres.”
Pythagoras

Rebecca_Penkett_harpWhile training in Healing Energies with The Academy of Spiritual Sciences, I bought a small harp and was encouraged by Carol Lamb, Founder of the Rainbow Light Network to teach myself to play intuitively.  Although I already played guitar, I had never created music before and wondered how this would happen…  However, by practising the Emerald Alignment to align my energy to a higher consciousness prior to playing, the music started coming through.  If I started thinking about what I was doing and allow my mind to engage, the musical flow stopped and I would need to align again to reconnect to my intuition.  The more I learned to disengage my mind, the longer I could sustain the intuitive connection, enabling the creative music energy to flow through my body and into the strings.  I felt as if I was in the audience not knowing what was going to come next. Over time, I became aware of some different musical styles coming through, which led to some musical composition.  I also noticed that mood influenced the music – sadness sounded melancholic and happiness sounded bright and uplifting.
