Ecology ~ Everything has Consciousness and is Interconnected

Today is unique

Look at the sky – it is constantly changing; the clouds will never be the same again today.

The sunlight on the leaves will change.  The shades of green will lighten and darken in a moment.

“Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty if only we have eyes to see them”.
John Ruskin

If we see with new eyes, we can teach the children to do the same.

Nature Nurtures Us

It is important for us to look after ourselves, especially if we spend long hours indoors or are unable to go outside to enjoy being in nature.  This is where we can bring nature to us.  A bare window sill can be transformed into a mini garden by placing a group of plants together on it.

We can encourage children to create little gardens too and grow sunflowers.  Watching flowers grow teaches children patience and to care for something other than themselves.  As we nurture plants, they in turn nurture us.

Encouraging Children to Reconnect to Nature

Reconnect children to nature and they can learn kindness and compassion.  Nature feeds the imagination and nourishes intuition and creativity.  Every living thing is part of the family.

“Just living is not enough” said the Butterfly.
“One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.”
Hans Christian Anderson
